 Voluntary Evacuation Order and Shelter opening times

 Due to the potential effects of Hurricane Irma, Okeechobee County Emergency Management is recommending a voluntary evacuation to residents in low lying areas and areas prone to flooding. 

 A Red Cross general shelter will be established at South Elementary School, 2468 SW 7th Avenue Okeechobee, Florida and will be opened at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 2017.

Okeechobee County Pre-Registered Special Needs Shelter Clients can go directly to the Havert Fienn Center, 2000 Virginia Ave, Fort Pierce Florida. This shelter will open at 9:00AM September 8, 2017.
