Waste Management has resumed collection of household and recycling.  Okeechobee County residents are asked to place all Hurricane Irma-related storm debris curbside in the right-of-way as soon as possible.  Place storm-related debris in a separate pile. DO NOT mix yard waste with household trash or construction/demolition debris. Do not put storm debris in recycling bins. Mixing yard waste with recyclables contaminates the materials causing the recycling to be treated as trash and sent to the landfill. Residents are reminded to be careful of where they place debris piles. Avoid blocking the road, driveways, sidewalks, mailboxes and access to fire hydrants.
