Toy Run set for Dec. 1
Big Lake Missions Outreach, Reno’s Motorcycle Service, and Cypress Hut Eagle Riders is sponsoring the annual Bike Run to benefit local children in the area. Proceeds will go toward the 24th Annual Toy Run. Donations can be made in cash or check (made out to Big Lake Missions Outreach). Motorcycles, rods and trucks are all welcome to run. They will meet at the Brahman Theater, 1500 S. Parrott Ave., on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 8 a.m. and leave at 8:30 a.m. for a 3-hour ride. Upon return they will gather at the Cypress Hut FOE #4509, 1401 U.S. 441 S.E., for a BBQ lunch prepared by Peppered Pig BBQ Co. Christmas festival scheduled
Okeechobee Main Street will present its annual Christmas Festival on Friday, Dec. 7-8. On Friday, OKMS will present The Nutcracker featuring the Okeechobee Ballet at 6:15 p.m. followed by a Christmas Movie in the Park at 7:30 p.m. For information, click here for more info.
Dec. 8 prairie treasure hunt

Community Choir Christmas Concert
SAVE the DATE! The annual Okeechobee Community Choir Christmas Concert will be Dec. 14-16. The choir is in its 19th year under the direction of Sandy Perry, began rehearsing Sunday, Oct. 7, for the cantata, Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus and other seasonal selections.
Christmas boat parade set
Okeechobee Yatchette Club will host the 35th annual Christmas boat parade on Saturday, Dec. 15. Decorate your boat and meet up on Taylor Creek by Burger King and U.S. 70 by 5 p.m. The parade will begin at 6 p.m. For information, call Arnie at 863-467-4782 or Harry at 863-467-4782.
