Okeechobee County is April 2019!

LEON COUNTY, FL – Today, the Florida Association of Counties (FAC) announced the county photos selected to be featured in their 2019 FAC Calendar: Old Florida. Okeechobee County will be featured as April 2019. This year’s theme was chosen by our members in the month of July and a photo submission contest was held until mid-September. The Calendar is provided complimentary to Florida’s commissioners and senior county staff and is a small thank you to our members and corporate partners.

“This year’s calendar theme honors Florida’s rich and diverse history and the generations of Floridians who have contributed to the success of this great state that we call home.” said Florida Association of Counties President and Hendry County Commissioner Karson Turner, “The FAC calendar is great way for counties and citizens to showcase their local history.”

The theme for the 2019 FAC Calendar was chosen over the summer. Once the theme was selected, all of Florida’s 67 counties were asked to submit their best history photos or photos of their favorite historic site in their county with more than 300 photos being submitted. From the submissions, only fifteen were selected for the 2019 FAC Calendar.

The fifteen photos chosen to represent fifteen different counties and the great variety of bodies of water we see in Florida include:
