NOTICE:  SFWMD the S-193 lock at Taylor Creek in Okeechobee County will return to operations on Saturdays and Sundays between 5:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. beginning on Saturday, June 10, 2017. All other locks will reopen when the lake returns to 12.51 feet.

Important things to remember:

When Submitting Permit Application

  • A Site Plan is required showing setbacks, fire separation, overhead and underground utilities, septic tanks
  • Owner/Builder Affidavit (if applicable) must be signed in person at building department
  • Contractors must be registered with the County and have current liability and workers compensation insurance
  • Three sets of construction drawings are required for non-residential work and two sets for residential

Prior to First Inspection

  • Notice of Commencement (NOC) for jobs in excess of $2,500.00
  • Preliminary Pest Certificate
  • Road & Bridge Approval for Right-of-Way Permit
  • Preliminary Soil Compaction (FAX copy)
  • Form Board Survey (if applicable)

Prior to Final Inspection

  • Final Pest Certificate
  • Final Septic Approval
  • Approved Road & Bridge Inspection
  • Original Soil Compaction
  • Finish Floor Elevation or Elevation Certificate

Prior to Issuance of Certificate of Occupancy

  • Solid Waste and Fire Assessment fees must be paid
  • Fire Fighter Safety Building Marking System emblem must be installed
