The simple pleasures of some good old-fashioned home cooking can be found at Pogey’s Family Restaurant. There is typically a wait so bring your patience and your appetite, yeah, it’s that good!  Home cookin’ favorites are an Okeechobee staple so be sure to check out the historic Glady’s Restaurant, Mom’s Kitchen serving great specials all week, Zippy’s Wings for wings that pack a punch, a pilot’s favorite hamburger at Landing Strip Café that looks out onto the airport, Crossroads with quaint country décor and a hidden gem Ropers Café where cowboys are a plenty.

Okeechobee is known for its steakhouses such as the Speckled Perch a long time favorite of locals, the Brahma Bull whose steak tips are something to call home about and Cowboy’s where friends meet and eat! 

Mexican food peeking your interest? Try Los Cocos a local favorite and located in the center of downtown.  Rio Bravo and Santa Fe will delight with authentic Mexican flavors and the only Tex-Mex in town with home made recipes stop by Chico’s Burrito Shack.

 Did I hear pizza? Okeechobee takes care of the whole family with some of the best Italian joints around! With a little taste of Italy with a hint of New York’s finest Joey’s Pizza and Subs offers huge slices of tasty pizza favorites. Second Street pizza offers a variety of Italian food favorites to satisfy any family on a budget as well as Pizza Heaven and Wild West Café that kicks the Italian food cravings with a variety of tasty options.
