      The mission of the Veterans' Services Office is to assist Okeechobee County veterans and their family members by providing counseling and assistance in order to establish VA benefits under Federal and State laws which may result in monetary gain and medical care.

BENEFITS

You may be eligible if you are:

     A Veteran.                                            
     A Veteran's Dependent.
     A Surviving Spouse or Child of a Deceased Veteran.
     A member of the Reserves or National Guard.
     An Active Duty Service member.
     A Merchant Marine.

      Benefits assistance is available for Compensation, Pension, Health Care, Education, Home Loan Guaranty, Burial.  Walk-in assistance available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (closed at lunchtime).  The office is closed on Wednesday's for administrative duties.  

 VAN TRANSPORTATION   -   All appointments must be before 12 noon

      Okeechobee County provides free transportation for eligible veterans to and from their medical appointments at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center.  The van departs and returns from the Burger King parking lot.  To schedule a ride on the van call 763-6441 ext 5.
