The Cliff J. Betts Recreation Area, on the north shore of Lake Okeechobee, has a 400-foot fishing pier with a covered pavilion at the end providing vantage for scoping birds on the lake and the shore. This pier is also a popular fishing spot with benches and convenient restroom facilities at the entrance of the pier. The video above shows the pier and the beauty that surrounds it.
Of course you can escape, take a drive to Arnold's Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and escape to nature. Arnold's is home to approximately 300 permanent animal residents with over 1,000 animals coming through the gates each year. This sanctuary is a non profit education based wildlife care facility. Please place your donation in any of the donation boxes located throughout the center to help provide for these wonderful animals that need your help. Suggested donation of $10.00 per person.
Your Okeechobee adventure will be something to share for years to come so come to the north shore of the lake and make time to take time to reconnect with your family!
